Our graduate program is a cutting-edge rotational program that combines extensive on-the-job training with the support and assistance you need in completing PLT requirements.

You’ll be given opportunities to experience a range of practice areas and sectors through rotations (wherever possible) and the chance to gain a holistic understanding of the legal issues confronting national and global businesses. This will help you make an informed decision about the area you want to work in following your graduate year.

Tailored training and support

Your wellbeing and development are our top priorities. Graduates are given an extensive support network, including a buddy to assist with the transition from university to full-time employment, a mentor in each rotation and a supervisor (partner) to provide guidance throughout the year.

We offer grads ongoing feedback, both formal and informal, to enable you to thrive personally and professionally in the program.

You will start with a national induction program, run in our Melbourne office. It covers the firm’s structure, the work we do, our clients, training in tech and systems and office procedures.

You’ll also be given regular learning opportunities - including Elevate - a program that is an integral part of the graduate program. It provides insight into our business and the business of law, helping graduates to build connections and internal networks, and provides continuous learning and CPD opportunities.

Smarter Law – Future Skills program

Future Skills is a Smarter Law learning and development program to build key future skills and capabilities of our people, such as digital literacy.

As part of the Future Skills program, our graduates have an opportunity to get involved and experience the innovation journey by taking an idea to reality.

It incorporates legal tech and innovation modules, including ideation, prototyping and experimentation.
