About the role and team

We have an opportunity for an experienced Lawyer or Associate to join our Banking & Financial Services section to practice in financial services and finance work. 

This role is based in our Sydney office, with flexible working arrangements on offer.

Our Banking & Financial Services section has approximately 46 team members, and this role will provide the opportunity to work closely with a number of Partners and other team members across the practice nationally.

You will be responsible for:

• advising on commercial arrangements including finance transactions, mergers and service provider arrangements;
• assisting with commercial transactions, including establishing funds and fund mergers;
• providing regulatory advice to superannuation funds, investment managers and platform providers;
• preparing and reviewing disclosure documents, annual reports, periodic statements and advertising material;
• participating in marketing and business development (including assisting in seminars and other presentations);
• precedents preparation and review;
• authoring articles for publication; and
• participation in team and section meetings and CPD activities.

About you

You will ideally have the following skills and experience:

• 2-3 years of post-admission experience practising commercial law including financial services or finance work, including within private practice;
• Regulatory and/or finance experience will be well regarded;
• A solutions-focus for our clients' commercial needs;
• A demonstrated ability to form close relationships with peers, clients, professional trustees and industry professionals;
• enthusiasm for the financial services sector; and
• interest in using innovation to develop the practice.
